7th Grade

In Year 1, students jump into Technology Applications for Business and learn to use the tools professionals rely on every day—word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and even web design. Projects follow an exciting entrepreneurial theme, so students build tech skills while practicing communication, teamwork, and creative problem-solving. This year sets the stage for bigger entrepreneurship challenges and real-world business experiences in Year 2. Students also have the opportunity to earn the Microsoft Word industry certification.

 

 

8th Grade

In Year 2, students take their entrepreneurial skills to the next level with a hands-on focus on business operations and management—all inside a simulated company experience. Students rotate through roles like marketing, finance, and sales to plan, promote, and run a virtual enterprise. Along the way, they grow their leadership, collaboration, and critical-thinking skills while getting a real taste of how businesses work. Students also have the opportunity to earn the Microsoft Excel industry certification.

 

COMPUTER SCIENCE

Computer Science

 

6th Grade

Minecraft Education with Coding introduces students to beginner programming concepts in a fun, interactive world. Using block-based coding, students automate builds, complete challenges, and practice computational thinking—all while letting creativity lead the way.

Students also have the opportunity to earn the Microsoft PowerPoint industry certification.

 

7th Grade

Digital Discover: In Device Configuration and Management, students learn the IT basics that keep today’s devices running smoothly. They practice setting up operating systems, installing and updating apps, and using smart security habits to protect devices and data. With plenty of hands-on troubleshooting, students build confidence solving common tech issues. Students will also prepare for the IT Specialist: Device Configuration and Management industry certification—an awesome step toward future technology careers.

 

 

8th Grade

Foundations of Web Design helps students bring their ideas to life online by building websites with HTML and CSS. Students learn how to create clean, well-organized pages and make them look great with style and layout. By the end of the course, students will have a portfolio of work—and the opportunity to earn the Information Technology Specialist certification to showcase their web design skills.

 

All courses are year-long and include exciting opportunities for students to earn industry-recognized certifications. CTACE offers career-focused classes that build real-world skills and confidence—so students are ready for what’s next, whether that’s high school pathways, college goals, or future careers.
