Principal's Summer Message
Dear Parents and Students,
Thank you for a productive and successful school year. We continue our commitment to providing a rigorous and challenging curriculum within a safe learning environment to ensure students are high school ready upon completion of eighth grade. This was the last year of FCAT Assessments. While we still do not know what the new assessment will look like, our teachers will be working to ensure that our curriculum is aligned to the new Florida Standards. Students will be provided with learning opportunities that will prepare them to face the transition out of FCAT and into the next generation of assessments.
Over the summer, our teachers and administrators will be participating in professional development to ensure we are prepared to continue the rigor needed to deliver effective instruction that is aligned to the new Florida Standards.
There is so much to look forward to in the new school year. English/Language Arts and Reading classes in ALL grade levels along with sixth grade mathematics classes will use computers as the primary source of instruction in the classroom.
I encourage students to stay engaged over the summer. Summer reading lists are posted on our website.
I hope you are able to take time to enjoy your summer and make lasting memories with your family and friends. See you in August!
Ms. Janet Morales
